Things You Need to Know

I treat your quilt tops like my own. Therefore, I always do my best to ensure they look amazing when I am finished. 

Here's what you need to know before you bring your top in for quilting:

• Flat and square tops begin with accurate piecing. Squaring your blocks and rows as you go, pressing your seams flat as you go, will save you time in the end and I will love you for it.
• If your quilt has borders, it's important that they lay flat as well. Proper measuring and attachment will make all the difference. Watch video below for more information.
• To properly attach the backing to my long-arm frame, I need the backing & batting to be 5" larger on all four sides than your top. Example: If your top measures 60"x60", you back & batting should measure 70"x70"
• There is no need to baste, pin or fold these pieces together as they go on the frame individually.
• Trim excess threads and fraying strings from the wrong side of top and fold with those seams inside. This will prevent further fraying.
• Mark top of quilt top and back, if they are directional.
